Austin Wiehahn
MSc (Physio), PgCert (Teaching & Learning in HE)
Austin Wiehahn is a specialist physiotherapist dealing with sports injuries and workplace issues (e.g. repetitive strain injuries). He completed his thesis in the Achilles Tendon – which is commonly affected in runners.
Since that time he has treated numerous runners with this and other running injuries (shin splints, runners knee etc) that typically persist when trying to return to running. These injuries are often – but not always – related to the running technique. Similarly Austin analyses cyclists’ technique to highlight potential strains on the knee joint.
Besides sporting injuries Austin visits workplaces and provides guidance on how to reduce injuries within the workplace. Workplace injuries commonly affect the arm, neck and back.
Austin lectures at the University of Hertfordshire on the Post-Graduate Physiotherapy Programme with a special interest in biomechanics, repetitive strain injuries and sporting injuries.
